OSHC
Digital attendance and audit trails built for outside school hours care and vacation care excursions.
Outside school hours care (OSHC) and vacation care providers regularly take children on excursions — to the local pool, the cinema, a park, or a full-day activity during school holidays. These groups often include children from multiple schools and year levels, attending on different days of the week. Excursion SafeCheck gives OSHC coordinators a digital excursion attendance system built to handle this variability, with a fresh, structured attendance and audit trail for every outing.
Unlike a single school class, an OSHC or vacation care excursion group can vary significantly from day to day — different children, different numbers, and sometimes different staff. Manual paper rolls make it harder to keep track of who is attending which excursion, and who was verified at each stop, especially during busy holiday programs running several outings in the same week.

When attendance is tracked with paper rolls that change composition every outing, it becomes easy for a roll to be out of date, misplaced between the centre and the excursion venue, or simply not reconciled against who actually turned up that day. This ambiguity is a real risk for services managing multiple concurrent holiday programs. A digital system removes it by generating a fresh, checkpoint-based attendance record for each specific excursion group, drawn directly from that day's attendee list.
Because OSHC groups vary so much from day to day, having two verification options matters. QR scanning suits regular groups with printed wearables ready to go, while Digital Checklist Mode is faster to set up for one-off holiday program excursions where wearables have not yet been prepared. Services can start with Digital Checklist Mode for their first few excursions and introduce QR scanning for recurring programs once the workflow is familiar.
For child safety, a fresh digital attendance record for every excursion means coordinators always know exactly who is on today's outing and whether they have been verified at each checkpoint — regardless of how the group composition changes day to day. Administratively, this removes the burden of managing multiple overlapping paper rolls across a busy vacation care calendar, since each excursion's record is self-contained and exportable on demand.
OSHC and vacation care services operate under the same National Law and ACECQA National Quality Framework as other education and care providers. Excursion SafeCheck is designed to support the structured record keeping this framework expects, without guaranteeing compliance — providers remain responsible for meeting their own regulatory obligations.
